Description: Beautiful Mid 70s Japanese made, Red Stained With Off White Trim and mother of pearl. Eagel with flags on the back. Everything included, 3 metal and 1 plastic finger picks, padded case, and canvas banjo strap. Built during the height of the Japanese instrument manufacturing boom. Commonly, this era is referred to as the "lawsuit" era, because a lot of guitar companies made direct clones of popular Fender and Gibson designs in these Japanese (and at some point also Korean) factories. Lori seems to have been a brand along the ilks of more well known Japanese brands of that time like Aria, Guyatone, early Ibanez, etc. that made guitars and also some banjos. The quality of these builds varied greatly, and this banjo unfortunately is in a more fragile condition. The drum of it rattles but it is playable. I got this as a birthday gift to myself when I turned 19 and felt like I got it for a good deal for a beautiful banjo and my first. Only to have found that I signed up to find out that I signed up for a 50 year old vintage piece that needed repairs and TLC. It's been played and treated with love the years I've had it and only selling because I've fallen on hard times. The guy who originally sold it to me told me it was a 4 string tenor but after I had received it I found out that I needed to replace the tuning peg because it was a 5 string completely missing its fifth. Feel free to ask any questions I'm more than happy to answer and help. Thanks!
