Description: This is a Vintage Rare Kasli Cast-Iron beautiful wall decoration ''Great Snake''. Great Snake story was created by famous Russian writer Pavel Bazhov. This plaque was cast out of Dutch soot iron using precision technique. It was made in the 1977 at the Kasli Architectural and Artistic Casting Plant located in Chelyabinsk Region in USSR. The plaque was designed by Soviet artist I.V. Beschastnov. The plaque has original stamp of Kasli plant and original factory tag (see pictures). Size: 10.5 x 6.5''; 8mm thickness; weight 2.07lb. Kasli cast-iron products were produced in Kasli (Southern Ural), from the mid-19th century. Kasli castings are characterized by skilled craftsmanship visible in exceptional clarity and smoothness of the metal surface. High-quality iron was smelted on a wood fire and cast in consistently fine sand. The wall decoration is in excellent vintage condition.
