Vintage 1970's Belforte 666 FT Diver Watch w/Orig Crown,Runs FOR PARTS/REPAIR

Description: ***********FOR PARTS/REPAIR - Although the manual wind movement will run after winding the crown and then gently shaking and or spinning the watch face down on a flat surface it has a tendency to stop when held in various positions. Given this and considering the movement's unknown service history a complete overhaul is required.***********This seldom seen vintage 1970's Belforte has a matte black "9200 T < 25mc SWISS 6028" signed dial that is in lovely but not perfect condition as there are some difficult to see darker markings that can only be seen from certain angles and lighting conditions. Picture 2 provides the best illustration of these blemishes. The lume, which remains fully intact and no longer glows after being exposed to bright light, has aged gracefully. The black bezel, which shows wear and stiffly rotates bidirectionally, presents nicely. The all stainless steel monocoque case shows honest wear and minor signs of oxidation. The outside of the case back is stamped "SHOCKRESISTANT | STAINLESS STEEL CASE | ANTI-MAGNETIC | WATERPROOF TO 666 FEET." The crystal needs to be replaced. Because the movement is accessed through the crystal I am unable to show it. Although the manual wind movement will run after winding the crown and then gently shaking and or spinning the watch face down on a soft, flat surface it has a tendency to stop when held in various positions. The original non-screwdown crown winds smoothly. Given that the movement does not run as it should and considering its unknown service history a complete overhaul is required. This watch measures approximately 37 mm excluding the crown, approximately 40 mm including the crown and approximately 20 mm between the lugs. Case thickness, measured from the bottom of the case back to the top of the bezel, is approximately 7 mm. Including the crystal thickness measures approximately 9.5 mm. Given that the movement starts and stops and considering its unknown service history a complete overhaul is required. As such there are no warranties, express or implied, attached with the sale of this watch. Vintage means old and while my personal belief is that old-school means better quality and workmanship, things can and do go wrong from time to time. For this watch that time is now.
