Description: VERY RARE 1969 Ideal Toy Company Tall FLATSY Flat doll is bendable, 8.5 inches tall, and FLATTENED — but with breasts! NOT Mattel, but I personally describe this doll as FLAT BARBIE, or ANTI-BARBIE Doll! Designed by Ideal’s Harvey Hank Kramer, it only sold from 1969-1973, with odd television commercials in the U.S. Imitations came later, but the original dolls have the oval on the back with IDEAL. 3 sizes were sold, but this is the especially hard to find TALL FLATSY — which came in 4 vivid hair colors with rooted eyelashes, and unusual feet shaped like boots. Gwen is the TALL FLATSY doll with bright green hair, breasts, and green eyes with green pupils. Her pink, one piece bathing suit is sewed on, not removable. Maybe the psychedelic U.S. 1960s were responsible, but this wildly imaginative, FLATTENED, pancaked version of the iconic Mattel Barbie is beyond funny! 50 years later, she is a star on any complete Barbie collection.
