Description: Vintage 1961 Barbie case by Mattel and Ponytail in the scarce sky blue vinyl with great graphics of four fashionable women on the front lid. Plastic handle with silver tone metal, flip buckle latch at the top with black plastic handle. Marked (c) and T.M. Mattel Inc 1961 on the bottom left and Ponytail on the bottom right. Inside is white vinyl with a vertical compartment for a doll, and a larger compartment with metal hanging rod and unbranded standalone cardboard drawer. Approximately 12.25” tall (14.5” tall with the handle) x 10.5” wide x 2.75” deep. Condition: Very good vintage used overall condition. Minor wear and scuffs. Light to moderate oxidization on the metal but free of rust and verdigris. On the exterior top panel, there is a small ink mark “S” and a pin hole. The front graphics are excellent with only a few scuffs and some mild grime. The handle is sturdy and the buckle closes the case as intended. The interior is slightly yellowed, has glue residue under the drawer (and no drawer foundation) and overall is very clean. No tears to the plastic. Mild mustiness from age and storage.
