Description: Manufactured in England in 1959, this Maxima pen is in excellent condition. The barrel bears a Parker Maxima mark. The numbers 50 and 9 on the nib indicate that the pen is a European Duofold Maxima manufactured in 1959. Maxima fountain pens were introduced with the aerometric filling system (with an ink sac enclosed by a protective metal squeezable sheath), replacing the vacumatic system. The Maxima was considered a Parker Duofold flagship pen, and the #50 nib was the largest of the Duofold nibs. No fins on the feed are missing, and the pen only shows minor signs of gentle use, with very few marks and scratches. The reservoir was flushed without any difficulty. However, the pen was not tested with ink. Please note that the pen will be shipped in a box for protection. Dimensions: Pen with cap on: 142 mm Pen uncapped: 132 mm Nib protrusion: 22 mm
