Description: This is a vintage 1953 Gretsch snare drum. 5.5x14 3 ply shell with black diamond wrap. 8 lugs, diecast hoops, micro-sensitive strainer, single point butt plate, round knob muffler.Drum is in good clean condition & looks to be original except for heads and wires.Date stamp inside shell August 31 1953. Correct 50's Micro Sensitive strainer with no cylinder protecting the spring. Early style die cast hoops with cast snare gates. Plating is pretty much gone from top hoop, worn on bottom. See photos for condition. Selling as found.Modern Remo heads top and bottom with modern wires.
