Description: Wow! Rare Vintage 1940s National Pressure Cooker Canner Pre-Patent Prototype! This is the predecessor to the famous No. 7 as well as other models. I've done as much research as I can on this now and EVERY single other National Pressure Cooker I've seen has a model number on the metal tag as well as a patent number. This tag has neither and still says "Pat. Pending"! I'd say this is along the lines of a 'No. 1' but that doesn't seem to exist. Overall the look, size and functionality of this one is virtually identical to that of the well known No. 7 pressure cooker as well as the No. 5. This is a recent estate find and is entirely untested. In overall very nice condition and could just use a cleaning. Please note the the glass is missing on the Pressure Guage. Please see photos for best idea of condition. I'm not sure of the exact capacity of this pressure cooker since I can not find another without a model number to compare this one too, but is likely either 12 or 16 quarts. Measures approximately 14 1/4" long handle-to-handle x 12 1/2" wide x 9 1/2" tall to lid top and 12" tall to top of Guage. Weighs 10lbs! Shipped with USPS Priority Mail or UPS Ground or FedEx Ground.
