Description: For your consideration, I am offering a 1939 Official Southern League Score Card for an exhibition game between the New York Yankees and the Memphis Chicks. This game was played at Russwood Park in Memphis, Tennessee. This 7" x 10-3/4" scorecard consists of 8 pages. Numerous ads from local merchants fill most of the pages. There are two extremely interesting additions to the score card that give it historical perspective when it comes to the Yankee players at that time. The players for both teams were printed on 1-1/4" x 3-1/4" strips and glued to the lineup page. Some of the Yankees who were available to play that day were -- Joe DiMaggio, Franke Crosetti, Joe Gordon, Bill Dickey, Tommy Henrich, Lefty Gomez, Red Ruffing, and Babe Dahlgren. Dahlgren is perhaps best remembered for replacing Lou Gehrig in the lineup on May 2, 1939,] which ended Lou Gehrig's 14-year, 2,130 consecutive game streak. The score card is in good condition. Delivery tracking and insurance are included in the shipping price. International shipping is extra. Discounted shipping for multiple purchases. Thanks for your interest.
