Description: Hi and welcome to my auction! For your consideration today is a vintage 1936 Tom Sawyer Painting Set by Standard Toykraft Products, Inc., New York, U.S.A. The box lid features Tom painting a portrait of Huck Finn and is an advertisement for the film, "The Adventures of Tom Sawyer." The contents are complete and mostly unused with the exception of the paint tubes in the center that appear to have been squeezed. The green and purple crayons on the top right don't reflect use but they've melted a bit over time. I'm not able to determine if the paint brush has been used. The bristles are short but not ragged. Was this the original brush included with the set? I can't find anything to confirm if it is. I'll need to rely on the experts in the Ebay community for their determination. Structurally, the box lid is missing the front flap, the left side flap has a tear through the number 728 and the right bottom corner of the lid is separated. I did not remove the old price sticker of $40 for fear of also removing the paper on the lid. I'll leave this decision to the new owner. The box measures approximately 13" x 18" x 1 1/2" deep.
