Description: In Sept this year I had a full set up by Simply for Strings at cost of $440. The job and invoice is included. I have also included the honest health check from them as well. The bow has had a careful repair and Simply for Strings suggest it is worth restoring I am selling the violin with a robust but vintage Cheney case. The date of this violin is written in faint pencil and it appears to be 1935? I have been told that it is possibly a JB Collin Mezin, Le Victorieux Violin. I removed the button, shone a torch inside but not located the maker’s signature…which may be as faint as the date and would need an internal camera to find. The top of the violin had been covered in brown opaque varnish. I slowly and carefully removed this finish with Isopropyl Alcohol to find some repairsunderneath. Two small holes repaired with wood discs and a repaired crack along the Bass Bar. I sealed the top with top quality luthier’s Sanding Sealer (UBeaut Brand) to stabilize the wood and gave a single rub of hard Shellac to the back and side but not the neck. Further enhancements are left to the buyer. The violin was previously fully serviced in 1988 and the invoice is included for $170 at that time. Inspections welcome from genuine buyers. Returns are accepted up to 30 days with the Buyer paying return postage. This is your chance to own a lovely sounding historic instrument at a very reasonable price.
