The Forbes Silver Co. opened for business in 1894 as a division of the Meriden Britannia Silver Company to manufacture silver plate hollow ware and continued until 1935. The mark on the base of the basket was one of their earlier marks used by the company. The basket features a basket weaved floral handle with vining flowers and an attached floral design on the base. The pierced design on the basket alternates with solid bands. Condition: The Basket is in good condition as shown in the pictures. The handle is stationary and sturdy. There are no monograms, visible repairs or dent, and the silver plate is shiny and bright. Size: The basket stands 15.5 inches tall to the top of the handle, and 9 inches wide at the widest point.
