Please excuse any glare in the photos. This item is in the form of a calico kitty cat, with multicolored glaze patches. It has an affixed leather hanging cord, and the back is covered with cork. The pottery portion of this item measures approximately 8 3/4 inches by 5 1/4 inches. It is about 3/4 inch thick, including the cork backing. Unpacked, it weighs 1 pound 8.5 ounces. This would be a wonderful addition to a collection of American studio ceramics, or it would look great in a mid-century modern decor. Identification This item has an ink stamped marking on its back side, "Victoria Littlejohn Ceramics." Per Vasefinder, Victoria Littlejohn was born in California. She was a student of F. Carlton Ball and Susan Peterson at USC, and she was a student of Peter Voulkos at UC Berkeley. She also was a student of Marguerite Wildenhain at Pond Farm. After working in southern California, Littlejohn moved her studio to Oregon. The exact age of this vintage item is not known. Condition This item looks great overall, with no chips or cracks. It has very light wear. There is some fine glaze crazing. As made, there is a very small glaze bubble indent to the cat's hindquarters.
