Description: Welcome to Antiques & Moore! This listing is for a gorgeous Victor Durand Art Glass golden amber translucent glass vase with blue internal pulled feather type decoration, c. 1920's. Vase has a large polished pontil. This nice vase is in excellent Estate condition with no noted flaws. Measures 6 1/2" high with a 2" diameter top and 2 3/4" diameter base. Weighs 14.5 ounces. History: Born in France in 1870 Victor Durand was the fourth generation in his family to work in glass. He migrated to the US and for a time was a designer for Tiffany prior to opening his own glass house, the Durand Art Glass Company in 1924 in Vineland NJ. He produced very high quality Art Glass and was a contemporary of Steuben and Tiffany. Durand had a tragic auto accident in 1931 resulting in his untimely death and his factory closed shortly thereafter greatly limiting the quantity produced. His glass is very desirable and is included in all major Art Glass collections world-wide.
