Description: This is an overall Very Good Condition Ultra RARE (I can't find any of these for sale anywhere in the World at time of first listing) 1976 "Metrics (S1) for the Secondary Classroom" published Los Angeles City Schools, Instructional Planning Division, Publication No. SC-731. It is printed on heavy 80 pound offset book paper, which is why 186 pages (93 sheets of paper) is almost an inch thick. Apparently, this was the response to President Ford's initiative to convert US measurements from the Imperial System to the Metric System.The Metric Conversion Act of 1975 is an Act of Congress that U.S. President Gerald Ford signed into law on December 23, 1975. It declared the metric system "the preferred system of weights and measures for United States trade and commerce", but permitted the use of United States customary units in all activities.
