Very Rare Giant Clam Shell Tridacna Gigas Derasa 16x13 inches 5 inches deep

Description: This is a Very Rare Tridacna Derasa Giant Clam which is the most sought after for display by home owners and decorators due to it having a smoother more porcelain like and translucent shell than the bigger heavier Tridacna Gigas. I added Tridacna Gigas in the description above because that is the name most people use for finding Giant clams but this is not the thick heavy shelled Tridacna Gingas. I purchased this clam shell from the owner of a shell shop on the Washington coast over 30 years ago when the owner closed his shop. This was a display shell he had for many years. He kept this shell as a display because it was the most beautiful and largest Tridacna Derasa clam shell he had seen. These huge Tridacna Derasa shells are no longer found due to all giant clams being harvested before they become this big. Tridacna Derasa shells smaller than this one often sell for $1,500.00- $2,000.00. I have not seen a Tridacna Derasa shell this large for sale on any sites since I purchased this one. I have seen many smaller Tridacna Derasa clam shells selling for much more than what I am asking for this one. Some of the pictures include a 12oz can of beer to give perspective of the size of the shell. The last picture shows this shell in a display with other sea shells in my home. This shell is 16 1/4th inches across, 13 inches high and 5 inches deep or 419x330x127mm The shell weighs 10 pounds 12 oz. or 4884 grams. The stand the clam shell is sitting on in the pictures is included. The first picture of the stand shows how the stand should look for holding the clam shell. The second picture of the stand shows how the stand was changed to fit in the shipping box with the clam. The horseshoe shaped part of the stand was slid to the other side of the stand. Before putting the clam shell on the stand be sure to slide the horseshoe shaped part of the stand back to the other side so the clam does not slide off the stand.
