Description: Veiligglas opaque marble in purple / milky grey measuring 7/8 inches diameter. A striking combination of colours made all the more wonderful by the milkiness of the grey which gives depth to the marble and an opalescence. There are 4 or 5 small chips (<2mm), a burst bubble (2mm) and a tiny bruise. Surface is lovely and wet. This vintage marble was made in the 1950s/60s at the Veiligglas factory in Amsterdam, Netherlands. They’re harder to come by than Veiligglas wirepulls, though are made in a very similar process with an opaque often milky base colour, resulting in sometimes very detailed and complicated exterior patterns. They were made in different colour combinations, sizes and their variety and surprising beauty (eg when the colours form flames) can make them a very collectible marble. We are happy to combine shipping for multiple purchases, and will invoice you only what it costs us.
