Description of the medal. The medal "For Labor Distinction" has the shape of a regular circle with a diameter of 32 mm. On the front side of the medal there are relief images of a sickle and a hammer, covered with ruby-red enamel, and a relief inscription "USSR". The dimensions of the sickle and hammer from the handle to the top point are 21 and 20 mm, respectively. The height of the letters in the word "USSR" is 3.5 mm. Under the image of the hammer and sickle, the inscription "FOR LABOR DISTINCTION" is placed in two lines in indented letters 2 mm high, covered with ruby-red enamel. On the reverse side of the medal there is a two-line relief inscription "WORK IN THE USSR IS A MATTER OF HONOR". The height of the letters of the inscription is 2.5 mm. The edges of the medal on both sides are bordered with a 0.6 mm wide border [2].
