Description: USS Pueblo AGER-2 Memorial naval first day cover with postmark from Findlay, Ohio dated Jan 9, 2022. Color photo of actual ship printed on cachet #2613 by Alvin Eckert USCS #9964. Originally, a 177' Army Cargo Ship, she was acquired by the Navy in 1966. She was renamed USS Pueblo and converted into an secret intelligence gathering vessel. Commissioned on 13 May 1967 she served in the Western Pacific. See her web pages for the details of her design, construction and service history. She was attacked and boarded near Wonsan Harbor on 23 January 1968 and her crew held hostage for eleven months. The ship is still being exhibited in Pyongyang, NK as a propaganda monument to "evil Americans". Cover franked with 57 cent flag stamp #5657 (FDOI) and a 3 cent USN stamp # 935 from 1946.
