USS Pennsylvania was a 504' long PA Class US Navy post-Spanish-American War armored cruiser with 4 eight inch rifles, 14 six inch guns, 18 three inch guns and 12 three pounders. She was commissioned on March 9, 1905 See her web pages for the details of her design, construction and service history. This cover honors her most famous event, the first aircraft landing on a ship on 18 January 1911. Pilot Eugene Ely landed a Curtiss Model D pusher biplane on an improvised wood deck on the stern of the ship, as shown in the photo. The ship also served during the Veracruz Landing in 1914 and the First World War. She was decommissioned in 1931. Seller has over 16 different early 1900s ship covers.
