Description: Gentlemen, Offered here is this G-1 made by L.W. Foster Sportswear Co. Inc. This AMEND. #2 is a rare variation of 7823 (AER), from fiscal year, 1955. This jacket belonged to a P2V Neptune pilot who flew in VP-21 Patrol Squadron. The condition is superb, considering it’s over 68 years old. All parts are original to the jacket. The goatskin leather is very supple and the mouton fur collar has that rusty shade. Blackened Conmar zipper works perfectly and original knits are in solid shape as well, which is rare. USN stencil under the collar is immaculate. Left chest depicts a leather name tag, printed “LCDR W.C. TRAUTMAN”. Some stitches are loose. Right chest depicts the VP-21 “Black Jacks” patch. In my opionion, L.W. Foster produced one of the nicest G-1’s, as their cut provided a trimmed fit. Finding jackets in this condition with patches and named is very rare.
