(USED) Diatone JR-711 Boombox

Description: Up for sale is a Diatone JR-711 boombox in great used condition. I purchased this box from a Yahoo! Japan auction back in 2012 and after arrival stripped the tweeter and woofer grilles of the black paint, polished and clear coated them to leave them silver in color. As far as I knew, at that time (especially in the boombox forums I used to be a member of), no one in the United States had a JR-711 so if anyone bought one afterwards, mine would immediately stand out. On top of that, I fixed the woofer grilles so they'd be removable. Another note about its physical condition is the left woofer is stained/discolored at the top. Doesn't affect the sound whatsoever but it's definitely noticeable when the grille is off. Chrome handle ends are pitted. Battery compartment is clean and springs are rust free. Cassette deck does NOT work but the motor spins and stops seconds later without anything engaging. Radio works on both AM and FM bands without any problem. The line-in RCA jacks work great if you want to use a Bluetooth device or plug your iPhone into it for music... The box comes with a power cord but keep in mind that you'll need a step up/step down voltage converter for it because it runs on 100v. It also runs on 8 D-size batteries. Cassette is NOT included. I've owned somewhere in the neighborhood of 40 boxes, at the height of my collection, and this is was in my top 3, behind the Victor RC-M90 and, perhaps, the Conion C-F100. I'd say it was a happy medium between the M90 (mids and highs) and the Lasonic TRC-931 (best bass of any old school box that I've heard, imo). Sounds better than a Toshiba RT-S90 and all the big Hitachi boxes. Again, that's my opinion.
