Description: I received this pin when I qualified as a service warfare officer as an Ensign aboard USS Spruance in 1978. I have since retired from our Navy and would like to find this very rare and special pin a new chest to be pinned on. It was purchased from Crisalli jewelry and I don’t think they are still being made. (He was a fellow USNA graduate and always had an ad in the Shipmate magazine.) This is NOT gold plated…..It is solid 14K GOLD & clearly marked as such as you can see in the photos. Even the pins are gold! It weighs out at 13 ounces which is about 1/2 ounce of 14 karat gold. Its scrap (buy back), based upon today’s price is about $600. I would much rather see it go to somebody who could proudly wear it like I did rather than selling it for someone to melt down.
