The listing is for the Vintage US Air Force Reconnaissance Mission Area Group Medal Wright Patterson AFB OH Metal Challenge Coin Insignia Retro item pictured only.This pre-owned metal medal is as found.The shield shaped medal does not have a metal fineness mark or a manufacture's mark.It highlighted by raised and recessed details with an antiqued blackened brassy finish.On the obverse it features the departments insignia and states: Reconnaissance Mission Area Group.The Reconnaissance Mission Area Group (RMAG) was located at Wright-Patterson AFB OH. It was involved in the 1990s DarkStar Project (Lockheed Martin RQ-3). The "R" is the Department of Defense designation for reconnaissance; "Q" means unmanned aircraft system. The "3" refers to it being the third of a series of purpose-built unmanned reconnaissance aircraft systems.The reverse is flat without design.This medal is approximately 2 1/8 inches by approximately 2 inches at the widest points.
