Description: United States ABC-M17 Field Protective Mask dated the first week of April 1966 by M-S-A, lot 2E8, Size Medium. The M17 Field Protective Mask was standardized from the Experimental E13 Series masks in 1959 and started production in 1960, being manufactured by M-S-A and D.T, with Firestone tire and rubber taking up the contract in 1962 and ending in 1963. In October of 1963 the name of the M17 was changed to ABC-M17. This specific kit for the mask is a late 1960's kit which includes a late 60s facepiece, ABC-M17 stamped M15 carrier, M13 decontamination and re-impregnating kit, really late M-S-A M1 outserts I had laying around, and usually early M1 waterproof bag, and Anti Dim Cloth, though I have yet to get them for this kit.
