Description: This is a very well made & interesting old pipe, it is made from carved Meerschaum that has been carved & modeled as what seems to be an Army Nurse, she is a pretty girl/woman with her hair in a bun and a Officers style peaked cap that has a badge with a cross on the front which i think is for the Red Cross? Its not a model we have ever seen and so its possibly quite a rare pipe, now needs a full restoration, the Meerschaum is in good original condition and the Silver hand engraved collar is superb but the Amber mouthpiece and the case are badly damaged and a section of the Amber is actually missing, so priced accordingly and sold as a restoration project or just simply an unusual pipe for a collector to enjoy as it sits now. The pipe has been very well used and the amber mouthpiece broken at some point Really not our usual thing but we like the unusual, I think its priced to leave a good profit or be a great buy for a collector because the only other examples we could find where in the hundred's or modern copies but of soldiers and not a Woman's head in a Military style cap so i think its possibly a very rare model? this is also sold as a period correct original old pipe and nothing less....... Size : Approx 15 cm long for the case which is badly damaged but original to the pipe. Please look at the images closely as they represent an important part of the description, thanks.
