UNO "Favorite" Bavaria was a mark used by the well known C. Hutschenreuther company in Bavaria, Germany. It was used as a special export mark for the US market, and was imported by Burley and Tyrrell Co. of Chicago Ill. around 1912.Artist this far back were not wanting recognition for their art work.They would sign their work into the art that they painted. I was told, this artwork is signed in the most unique way. I have yet to find a signature.Regardless, it's a beautifully done plate.Under plate is labeled: UNO "Favorite" Bavaria, and if you look real close, you will see 2886, which is either a kilt #, or # of how many plates were produced.
