Description: 14 ounces 5.50x2x1.60" Unique piece of lava rock with many layers of different compositions. This volcanic rock is from a dyke like intrusion, like a cave wall piece of rock that had supplied black scoria in the eruption of cinder cone on Kilauea volcano. It is hard basalt with different colors textures and lots of stringy quartz strands. That's those white crystals as seen in pictures. I've cut the Specimen flat at on two sides. It stands up nicely and has a nice shape to it. I have a limited amount of this particular rock. It's a stunning and unusual piece. An excellent Specimen to add to your collection. Please look to the pictures for further description and look at all those layers. Reminds me of a sandwich with all the stacked layers.
