Description: Normal 0 21 false false false ES-AR X-NONE X-NONE Extremely rare, Lalique style black press glass inkwell. Copper lid, the design depicts a frieze in which 17 naked male figures appear (athletes running a marathon) surrounding the container forming a continuity without repetitions. At bottom the word “Olympiades”, in the base the words “France”, “Depose” and “LUZIA” The container was entirely molded in black glass and frieze zone was frosted meanwhile the upper and bottom are shiny treatment. It has been dated based on the figuration (which clearly refers to the end of the 19th century) and the fact that the Olympic committee (of the contemporary era) was formed in France in 1894, while the first Olympiad was held in Greece in 1896. These facts lead us to deduce this age range in its dating. Really unique, perfect conditions, no chips or cracks. The copper lid has two minimal dents (please see the photos) A museum piece, for inkwell or Olympic memorabilia collectors. It measures: 8 x 8 cm approximately widest points Very excellent condition. I see no problems For any specific details please refer to the numerous photos. Please consider all pictures as part of description.
