I only found two live tiger cowries while living in Hawaii. The first one I found right next to the beach in 12 inches of water at Kapolei, (okay, okay, that was incredibly lucky, I admit, but then, that's how almost all of my fantastic shells were found---not by skill and dedication, but by just plain dumb luck!) the second I found in 3 feet of water, and the moment I saw it, I knew it was a beauty. So I asked the owner of the live fish store I was in, How much? and a half hour later I was watching my newly "collected" tiger as it checked out its new home in my aquarium. And though the two I "found" were terrific shells, they are nothing compared to this one. Why? Because, though Hawaiian tigers are tough to find, the ones that are found are normally in the 100-119mm range. But a giant tiger above the magic 120mm mark? Very rare indeed!. Anyhow, this beauty is a rare, vivid, rainbow-colored ultra-specimen---for as the video shows, it is a beautifully patterned, gorgeously colored, glossy, heavy, gigantic, special near-GEM baby will look terrific sitting on your shelf!The ultra-perfect shell for a first-class collection.
