Description: Two Arizona Mining Maps Title: Two Arizona Mining Maps Publication: Yavapai County, Arizona: The Gold Medal Group, circa 1935 Description: Arizona Mining MapsYavapai County, Arizona: The Gold Medal Group, circa 193511.75 x 18 inches and 11.5 x 8.5 inches, blueprint paper. Larger map creased at old fold, small with a faint corner crease, very good condition. Two rare blueprint maps of mines owned by the Gold Medal Group of Yavapai County, Arizona. The larger stated that it had originally been drawn up in 1917, with copies made in 1924 and 1935. It holds a plan map noting shafts, veins, tunnels, "ore body" and a "copper outcrop" as well as a "section through No. 1 shaft looking east." The second map showed "geology and some mines" including the presence of Yavapai schist, quartz diorite, bradshaw granite and aluminum. All we were able to learn about the Gold Medal group is that it had been owned by one J.H. Cochran, but was acquired by Hollywood engineering company Symons Brothers in 1940.Neither map found in OCLC or online.
