Description: Auction for TSR Set 1: Basic Rules for their D&D game, circa 1983. 1. TSR 1011 Dungeon and Dragons Seet 1: Basic Rules for the Fantasy RPG, 1983. Red Box edition is believed to be the twelfth print. This is the thrid Revision of the Basic Set rules, coinciding with the release of the Companion Rules (the D&D Expert Set was also updated at this time). The box is the solid red box depictin a red dragon fighting a single warrior, artword by Larry Elmore. Angled TSR logo on back reads, "TSR Hobbies, Inc.", and Product Number is in lower right. Contents include 64-page Player's Manual and a 48-page Dugeon Master's Rulebook (both have identical artwork to the box cover). Five of the six dice are missing as is the dice crayon. The 10-sided die is the low impact Holmes 1977 version. It shows use. No module is included as there are two scenarios in the rulebooks. While a collectible in it's own right to me this is more of copy to use and enjoy.Box set shows wear/tear due to age/use/storage to include spliting, bowing, scuffs, creasing of box top/bottom. Manuals show edge bumps, corner bends, some pencil marks, toning of pages with age, spotting on back covers. Three loose charts/reference pages.
