Description: Female figure, carved body reduced to angular forms with elongated torso, helmet-like head with c-shaped ears, conical eyes and prominent t-shape nose. Light brown patina with areas of blackened crusty layers. Vertical lip ornament lost from chin. Hairline age crack on left side of head and neck. Attached to custom base. Dege dal nda or “sculpture of the terrace” would have been displayed at a funeral to adorn the terrace of deceased male, or may have belonged to an altar for women who had died during childbirth. cf.
