Description: Bid NOW on this Vintage Tin Litho TOY CABLE CAR, Patent No. 829613. It's closely modeled after an actual San Francisco Market Street Railway Cable Car that is still in operation at Fisherman's Wharf! It's made of pressed steel metal with tab and slot construction, probably from the 1950s, from Trade Mark [logo] Made in Japan. It has a friction motor attached to the rear wheels, but the gears seem stripped and it no longer function properly. It appears that it also originally rang the large bell located inside the rear of the car. Signs on the roof say "BAY & TAYLOR Sts." on one side and "POWELL & MASON Sts." on the other. The sides have "504 MUNICIPAL RAILWAY". It has clear plastic front and side windows and a tin conductor and 6 metal riders. [NOTE: Based on other listings, it may be missing some parts and figures on the back end.] It measures about 7 inches long, 2-1/2" wide and 3-1/2" tall. It's in Very Good Used Condition with typical wear, ready for display! Add this classic model to your vintage toy collection TODAY!
