Magazine has 60 pages plus covers. Three staples hold the pages together. Measures 8 1/4" x 11 1/2". A great wartime issue, just weeks after the December 7, 1941 attack on Pearl Harbor. Page 15 shows a number of shocking photosof the destruction and death of that day. Issue is loaded with excellent articles on many aspects of the war. Numerous ads have a direct attachment to the war and products being supplied in support of that effort. Center, 2-page spread features great illustrations of numerous fighter planes from United Aircraft Corporation (Pages 30 - 31). Cover story on General MacArthur is on pages 16 & 17. It is excellent. Last paragraph of the story: MacArthur's Problem. Last week MacArthur was deep in one of the most difficult problems of his career. Defense of the Philippines was always planned in the belief thatcommunications with the Philippine Islands could be kept open.As a brilliant, visionary strategist General MacArthur knew that it was more important to hold the Malaya-Singapore-Netherlands Indies line, that if necessary the Philippineswould have to sacrificed. But MacArthur is quite capable of flouting the laws of war. The High Command might decide by the rules that the Philippines should be given up.But the last man to be convinced of that fact would probably be Douglas MacArthur. And if the islands should be lost. the U.S. would probably lose its best fighting generalwith them. The magazine shows lots of wear. Covers have wrinkles and bends. Inside pages are complete, but paper is thin. All edges are worn. No pages are missing. Cover page had subscription sticker that was originally attached, but has been removed leaving some pieces of the label as well as residue from the glue productused to hold it in place. Please review all photos attached. I'll place the magazine inside a plastic sleeve and add a piece of white foam board for protection, while mailing by USPS First Class in a bubble envelope.
