This specific ball was pitched by Giants starter Tim Hudson and used to strike out Randal Grichuk, and then was reused and fouled by Cardinal Starting pitcher John Lackey, and subsequently collected and authenticated. Hudson delivered a gritty performance, pitching into the 7th inning, and this ball was his 5th strikeout of the game and the 50th of his post-season career (out of a total of 53). Authenticated balls such as this are sent mid-game for sale to the public, and are sold by the home teams.
