Description: Beautiful set of 3 vintage Tiffin "15083-1" large goblets which are in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, fleabites, discoloration or scratching - they do not appear to have ever been used. This is a large goblet, measuring 7 1/2 inches in height with a diameter at upper rim of 3 5/8 inches. I believe it is the water goblet; however could also be used for wine, etc. This is a lovely pattern with a large and graceful flared optic bowl handcut in a floral/ladder design with cut leaves encircling the upper rim. The stem is ribbed and faceted and has 3 large knobs - one just above base and two just below bowl. The base is wide making it very stable. I do not know when this pattern was introduced, but it's shown as being discontinued. Tiffin Glass production began in Tiffin Ohio in 1889 and continued (changing owners several times) until 1980 when production ceased. It has become highly collectible and is widely sought by collectors. I purchased these goblets at a local estate sale and have priced very reasonably. 1.
