Author Biography I was not born with the name I. Nita Color. (Thanks, Mom and Dad!) I write most of my material under my real name, Debora Dyess. These works include Christian material for kids and adults, childrens picture books and songs and (hopefully soon) a chapter book for middle grade readers. When I decided to put together a group of coloring books for adults, I wanted to do it with a bang. This is one of those moments we hold onto during our lives -- a milestone, of sorts. It is something I doubted Id ever be able to do, so I am excited and eager. I was a commercial art major in college ... for about 20 minutes. In that required physical exam we all have to suffer through to attend higher education in the US, my doctor discovered a genetic flaw in my eyes. Certainly not a good sign for an aspiring artist, the diagnosis made me change the direction of my education and of my life. Now, dont get me wrong ... There are no complaints about my life and the reality has been far better than the expected development of the vision impairment. But still ... there was that nagging desire to do something with my art. A few months ago I wrote illustrated a childrens picture book (Gracie and the Magic Feathers) and it occurred to me: why not use the same tools that help me see every day items to create a coloring book for grown-ups.
