Any flaws to the exterior of the books should be discernable from the photos provided (the "polished" finish of the boards and spine lent itself to being easily damaged). Light foxing (very typical of this British version – poor quality of paper used) on Volume 2, no foxing on remaining 3 volumes (pages and inserts are clean). Volume 2 has dampstained/waterstained on top of back cover, inside and out (also on top of back endpage). Volumes 2 & 3 have some shelfwear. Each has handwritten inscription of previous owner. End pages are tanned. Bindings are solid.
