Description: Made by Ruger right after World War II with rarer straight grip rather than the Standard Auto pistol grip style. Ruger's tools were of fine quality and could not compete with Stanley, Millers Falls and others in regards to pricing and promotions. Ruger went bankrupt and then with the $50,000 of start up money from Alexander Sturm, he bought the tooling needed for pistol manufacturing at the bankruptcy sale and the rest is history. Very collectable for those who are looking for extras for their Ruger collections. As with most examples, the paint on the gear is missing in many places but this can be restored with a matching spray can. The threaded cap on the end is for storage of spare drills and should be painted the same red as the gear wheel to complete the restoration. It has been reblued, but very well done as you can see by how clear the name is on its barrel. It is missing its secondary balance gear that would be at the rear portion; a photo of the missing piece is shown. It functions smooth as is, and the average person would not even know that the part is missing. The chuck is 1/4"; very few were 3/8". There are faint vise jaw marks or such on the bottom rear as shown. Shipped FREE by Priority Mail with full insurance to any location in the US so no penalty for AK or HI.
