All members of the group (a total of 30) studied art in the schools of Philadelphia, primarily the Philadelphia School of Design for Women and the Pennsylvania Academy. Among the best known of the group are Fern Coppedge, M. Elizabeth Price, and Harriet Frishmuth 175 pp. A few color and black and white illustrations throughout. A work accompanying a retrospective exhibition of the paintings and art of a group of women known as Ten Philadelphia Painters or the Philadelphia Ten.
