Description: First Edition, First Printing of Ernest Hemingway's Pulitzer-Prize Winning 1952 classic novel The Old Man and the Sea. Dust jacket has $3.00 original cover price and copyright page has Colophon and A. This a very nice vintage copy. The book itself appears lightly read with minor shelf wear, notably light edge wear as well as minor rubbing to the bottom outside corner of front board. Binding is tight and held well. Slight ding in one spot to the side edge of pages 109-112. Pages are clean with normal aging. Lettering on spine in good condition. Faint superficial crack in the front end paper at top spine, but the binding is structurally undamaged. Just appears as a hairline split in end paper and may be a manufacturing flaw. A few small faint stains on boards. See photos. Dust jacket has chipping at top and bottom of spine and a few small holes in spine. Otherwise, dust jacket has minor edge/corner wear including a small 1/4 inch tear at top outside corner. Minor creasing and scuffing. Colors on dust jacket are quite nice. Dust jacket has been handsomely preserved in protective mylar Brodart jacket. Ships the same to next business day.
