The photos should give a good idea of the condition. On the interior, there's general yellowing from age, some vulnerable spots in the binding that hold well regardless of how they look, some very small numbers and names in small pen and pencil on the first pages of either volume(I don't see any markings on the pages otherwise). There's also a vintage newspaper cutout pasted on the back inside board of the first volume about Niebuhr. If you have any questions, send 'em! This would be the time to determine things, because there are no returns on this book! And do not hesitate to ask for more pictures if you'd like. I do my best to accurately represent the books you will be receiving.
