Description: Published in 1958 by the University of Chicago Press. 1st edition (not stated in text, but presumed from information on WorldCat). Hard cover, dust jacket (DJ). See photos for condition. DJ has some surface scratching and scuffing. There's a brownish stain across the bottom of the DJ that bleeds onto back of DJ (see photos). DJ has some shelfwear on top and bottom edges - DJ has small rips/chips at board corners. Hard cover boards are firm. Fabric on boards have some staining on bottom of front board and back board. Small sections of fabric fraying on bottom of front board. Text block appears to be in excellent condition - pages appear free of writing, markings, highlighting, dog-earing, tearing. Binding is tight. Pages close to front and back boards are toning a bit - pasted down sheets especially, which also have some speckling.
