Time Will Tell [Live] Editorial Reviews The Magpie Salute is a new band bringing together former Black Crowes members Rich Robinson, Marc Ford and Sven Pipien. Their eponymous debut album was recorded live in front of a small audience at Applehead Recording in Woodstock, New York apart fromopening track Omission which is a full studio recording. The album has added significance as it marks the last recorded work by the lateEddie Harsch, former Black Crowes keyboard player who sadly passed away inNovember 2016.The album is a mix of Black Crowes songs, new tracks and cover versions, which reflect the band's wide-ranging roots. With half of the songs coming in at over 7 minutes long, there is a musical freedom to the album enabling all the musicians to shine. This is a debut album not to be missed. Line-Up: Rich Robinson - guitar, vocals; Marc Ford - guitar, vocals; John Hogg - vocals, percussion; Sven Pipien - bass, vocals; Eddie Harsch keyboards; Matt Slocum keyboards; Joe Magistro drums; Nico Bereciartua guitar; Charity White - backing vocals; Adrien Reju - backing vocals; Katrine Ottosen - backing vocals CUSTOMER REVIEWS : "This recording is a real good example of band mates on the same page.At times they sound like the Allman Bros,Little Feat.Nice cover of Pink Floyd's Fearless.Comin Home a good cover of Delaney and Bonnie. My favorite tracks are War Drums, and Goin Down South.Don't miss this one ! " ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "It's going to be the natural tendency for people to compare this to the Black Crowes.Yes it does sound rather Crowe-like, but how could it not; and maybe that's what they're going for anyway. Most importantly though, is that the music on this disc holds up on its own. This is just quality music that isn't heard all that often in these days of auto tuned, programmed, artificial, almost music. It evokes the best of the Allman Brothers, Gov't Mule, Tedeschi Trucks, Derek and the Dominos, and yes the Black Crowes. This band appears to be headed out on a pretty heavy touring schedule for the rest of the year. I hope they come up with more original material while on the road and crank out another record soon. This could be the start of something really, really, good."
