Description: "The Little Tales of Smethers and Other stories" by Lord Dunsany. This was the name used by Edward John Moreton Drax Plunkett, 18th Baron of Dunsany, an old Irish peerage. 26 short stories in the style of modern detective stories with elements of fantasy thrown in. This is a first edition in the green boards. It is in very good condition, with only mild bumping to the bottom of the spine. The binding remains tight with no loose or missing pages. there are no inscriptions, highlighting or folded down corners. I have highlighted a small mark in the fourth photograph. The dustcover is good with wear around the edges. There are minimal marks or stains mainly to the back cover. There are no serious tears. It shows the published price of "6/- net". The clipped corner is as published; presumably there was an adjustment to the price after the covers were printed. Please check the photographs carefully as they are a part of the description. A delightful copy of this book published just five years prior to Dunsany's death in 1957.
