Full polished navy calf with fancy blindstamp and gilt rule framing boards, upper boards feature a school medallion centered to the board of Bromsgrove Grammar School. Spine with five gilt decorated raised bands, gilt title to gilt rule framed red leather to second panel, gilt author/vol# to gilt rule framed fourth panel, heavy floral gilt rule with centered large floral device centered to all other panels, fancy gilt rule to head and foot of spine. All edges marbled, marbled endpapers. Engraved Prize Certificate to front pastedown of Vol.I. Edgewear, corners bumped and rubbed. Vol.II with several long scratches to upper board (see pic). Engraved frontispieces to both volumes with a total of 76 illustrations (in-text, plates) and 14 maps, spume folding, some hand-colored.
