Description: Please note : Due to the value of this book, I will be requiring signature confirmation on delivery for the protection of both the new owner and myself. This listing is for The Lion's Paw Series Volume II : The Jew and Masonry (Hardcover, 1918) by N.F. (Norman Frederick) de Clifford, MD. This book was self-published by the author. It has 200 pages in the main text, preceded by 14 introductory pages and 2 blanks--for a total of approximately 216 pages in all. Condition Details The book has noticeable tobacco odor–please be aware if you have any allergies. No dust jacket–not entirely certain if it was issued with one or not. Regardless, there is not one now. Boards have wear including wear to the gilt, bumping, other edge/corner wear, noticeable soiling and staining (See 11th Photo for example), and other general wear. Outside of text-block has overall general soiling (likely from smoke and dust) and some areas of more concentrated soiling/staining (See 13th Photo for example). Binding has loosened a lot, but all pages remain fully attached at the stitch points (See 14th Photo). Pages have definite age yellowing. Front free end-paper has writing in pen (a gift inscription to a local Masonic lodge - See 15th Photo). Pages (and both end-papers) have fingerprint smudges / streaks on essentially every page (See 16th-19th Photos for examples - this is predominantly noticeable in the first half of the book and gets much better near the end). This is almost entirely in the white border areas–while it occasionally encroaches a bit on the text, all text remains clear and readable. Also noticed a little pencil mark next to one of these smudges (See 19th Photo)--did not see any other writing besides this and the above-mentioned gift inscription. Pages also have some occasional other small stains (See 20th/21st Photos for examples), and noticed ash in the gutter of many facing pages (See 22nd/23rd Photos for examples). Pages have occasional handling creases and some general edge wear. Finally, saw some dents in the gutter of a handful of pages (likely from some kind of lodged debris that has since fallen out - See Last Photo). In short, not a particularly attractive book. However, it remains fully intact (presuming it was not issued with a dust jacket), and all text remains completely clear and readable. Please see included photos. Shipping Shipping is FREE. The book will be shipped by USPS, in a secure box. Any international shipping will be handled by eBay using eBay International Shipping, and will cost extra. My portion will remain free. And, to reiterate, I will be requiring signature on delivery for the protection of both the new owner and myself. If you have any questions about the book, please feel free to contact me. I will try to reply as quickly as I can. Thank you for considering my listing!
