Here we have the celebrated and quirky English detective series, also described as Spy-Fi, starred (throughout) Patrick Macnee as Steed, who, without ever using a gun, finds many ways to foil the bad guys. This particular quartet of shots captures the suspense, evil, whimsy, and a super automobile! The clever Steed had several other co-agents including Honor Blackman as Mrs. Cathy Gale (1961-1964), and most notably Diana Rigg as Emma Peel (1965-1968). The story goes that the producers wanted her character’s name to be Samantha Peel, to Man Appeal, to M. Appeal, and finally, Emma Peel. During her reign of popularity, she was getting paid less than the men on the set. Eventually she was compensated fairly; who could argue with Peel?
