With OH NO!, we strove to create a shocking effect, in which the performer not only cuts through his finger, but also separates the severed finger from his hand. But how could we actually remove a finger, which logically can't be removed from your hand? This trick was born once we discovered the secret principle involved. Before deciding to use a pair of scissors, we originally conceived of using a sword that slid through the base horizontally to cut through the performer's finger, and we proceeded to the trial manufacturing stage with this format. However, it took quite a bit of structural tinkering to be able to show the single blade as normal. One day, we were struck with the idea of using a pair of scissors in place of the sword. We realized that scissors actually help to make the effect much more natural.
